Meet Tiffany Scales | Pride Houston 365 President

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Scales and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffany, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Pride Houston 365 plays a vital role in supporting and uplifting the community year-round. By organizing events, providing resources, and fostering inclusivity, Pride Houston 365 creates safe spaces for individuals to express themselves freely. Pride Houston 365’s initiatives promote education, advocacy, and awareness, helping to dismantle stigma and build stronger relationships within the community. Pride Houston 365 is not only the longest standing pride organization that produces the largest one day event in the state of Texas, 3rd in the Country, and top 20 in the world, but also work towards equality and acceptance for all, ensuring that everyone feels valued and supported throughout the year. “Celebration Is Our Legacy,” Join us, Saturday, June 28, 2025 for the 47th Annual Houston LGBT+ Pride Celebration.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I sought diversity and inclusion at work but found none. After receiving the Humanitarian of the Year Award in 2019, I secured support for Pride Houston but faced backlash from a coworker who reported me to HR. Despite showing legal approval for my actions, I was ostracized and removed from my role. Leaving that company led to more hostility when advocating for an employee of Trans experience, resulting in my termination. I faced further trauma in my current job after an assault. I will continue to advocate for better experiences for others while maintaining that I too deserve to enjoy mine.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I Thank God for granting me the chance to serve in a major way.
Shoutout to Larry Bagneris, the founder of Pride Houston Inc., aka Pride Houston 365. Thank you for your vision, and support in the continuation of this organization!
Many thanks to the Board and fellow volunteers who serve with us to ensure the success of Pride Houston 365.
My gratitude abounds to the allies and supporters speaking up and/or standing in solidarity with our community.
To my predecessor, Kendra Walker, and LOC, your army of support, thank you for raising the bar.
I am open to receive and give support, and look forward to enjoyable experiences together!
