We had the good fortune of connecting with Toya T and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Toya, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve been doing media production since I was a teenager so it’s always been a passion for me. I went to Texas Southern University and graduated with my bachelor’s in radio, television and film also received my Masters in digital media and professional communications where I gained extensive knowledge. The college experience is what made me move forward in the industry. It’s been instilled in me as a child to be an entrepreneur. I’d never thought I could do it until I gained the knowledge and later the experience to find my passion to starting my own business.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m all things media and entertainment and still learning as technology changes and the industry evolves. I’m constantly learning new things as I go. What sets me apart is my energy I hear it all the time people love my energy which draws others to me. I know how to make others feel comfortable bringing out their natural energy. I’m a whole vibe. Networking has gotten me this far in my professional career.. I’ve made some major connections with genuine people who wants to see me win. This journey has been hard yet rewarding. I wouldn’t change anything. I don’t live with regrets. I’ve learned that it takes a team to build. Not to trust a persons word but their actions. Never overplay my part. Pray about everything and worry about nothing. And always always receive a deposit before putting in the work. I want the world to know that this GIT IT GURL movement is not just a brand it’s a lifestyle. That it’s always a MAJOR GRIND that won’t stop and that Toya T is definitely a force to be reckoned with. The world should stay tuned and keep their eyes open for me. Don’t put me in a box.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take her to Savoy I love the atmosphere. Playground. To Mo City Bar and Grill for a comedy show. We would ride ATV’s and do karaoke. We’d also go downtown to ride scooters. We’d attend any events going on that day. I’d take for to try Trill Burger. Also try Tik Tok eating restaurant here.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There’s so many ppl to name that has played an important role in my journey. From my parents who instilled God, entrepreneurship and a hustling work ethic in me. To my amazing professors for teaching me the industry. All the clients and artist who hired and trusted me to help market and promote their brand as well. To countless others who have mentioned my name and brand to where I’ve made major connections and done projects I’’ve added to my resume.. To those people who had publicly and silently encouraged and prayed for me. And most importantly to the negative people who has lied to me, betrayed me, misused me, doubted me, talked about me and hated me. I needed that to happen so I could learn from it grow from it and taught me how to strategically move in this industry. It’s my driving force I use as motivation.
