We had the good fortune of connecting with Tremicia Neveu and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tremicia, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
The reason i chose this creative career …. was inspired by my big sister Latanya who passed away in 2010. She was a hairstylist as well and before she passed she talked to me constantly about becoming one too. Later my mom put me in Cosmetology in high school and from there I gained a love for hair. Being a hairstylist gives me the ability to lift spirits and confidence giving individuals a boots in different areas. Being able to turn a bad day into a good one or being able to boost someones confidence is a different type of feeling. Your hair is the crown you wear!

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is Guru&Co. HAIR. Going into business for myself has showed me a different way of working, learning, living, dreaming. It literally has pushed me so far. It has showed me hard work and dedication. I pride myself on being a full-service stylist now. I’m most proud of my growth in this here hair industry, bur getting to this point was noting short of difficult. There was days, nights, months etc were I would give up and find a job working for someone else because I was too busy looking at other stylist growth and how fast they were growing. The work I was putting in started to pay off because i started to be booked more , gaining more clientele. I was doing hair in my room at my moms house, to her dining room , to now I am located in a salon in my own suite. Most importantly I learned that it’s okay to start from the bottom, fall and get back up, start fresh & GROW! Now I have hundreds of clientele that travels from all areas of Houston to get serviced by ME! I am extremely humbled and so very grateful for my growth. – Tremicia N. Hair Stylist

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Houston is a very big city, there are a lot places to visit so many to name.
