We had the good fortune of connecting with Tristen Bradburry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tristen, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
One word, SUPPORT. I seriously have the best support system behind me. My family, friends, colleagues, etc. are the most loyal to both of my brands. Networking with other hairstylist that are now carrying my brand, LUX – A Hair Extension Company in their salons. I couldn’t do it without the relationship and support I have built throughout the years.

What should our readers know about your business?
In high school I started Bronzed by Tristen which was a mobile spray tanning company. I took out a $3,500 loan from my parents to get started. For the first few months I made no money, I paid them back in full PLUS interest. My step dad, David Davidson, told me this small business wasn’t going to be a “fly by night” company. Shortly after high school, I realized I loved the beauty industry and realized I wanted to go to hair school. I started working at Shades Salon under Kaylon Woodson where she helped develop me into the stylist I am today. I currently have my own salon suite in The Woodlands, Tx. Hair By Tristen LLC. & LUX – A Hair Extension Company are my pride and joys. Both of my companies go hand in hand and i’m really excited to crush the goals I have for the years to come.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being that I work in The Woodlands but reside in Huntsville, I would say that definitely widens the range of things you could do. Some of my top favorite restaurants:

Goode Company – The Woodlands
Woodsons – The Woodlands
Big Ez Crawfish- Huntsville Tx

the list of things you could do could go on forever but we really love to hangout at Sawyer Park, Ale & Ivy, an Astros game, Texans game, concert at Cynthia Woods Pavilion, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband, Jeremy Bradburry (J), has been my backbone through all of my adventures. Whether it was moving me from salons to shipping out hair orders to listening to all of my crazy ideas, he has been there through it all 1000%. J gives the most true (sometimes too true lol) advice. The good, the bad and the ugly he has been there.

As far as salon life, a special shout-out goes to Kaylon Woodson. Without her willingly teaching me techniques that she has created/learned, I wouldn’t be the stylist I am today. She took a chance on me and I couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunities she has given me. She has developed multiple six-figure plus stylists. If you’re looking for a salon opportunity, she’s your girl.
