As a parent we believe that the most important impact that we have on our son is showing him what entrepreneurship is first hand. At most of our productions our son is right next to us. Sometimes he wants to help hold the reflector and other times he grabs his ipad and begins to snap his own photos. My kids are the reason that I have worked for myself for so many years, actually. I remember back in 2011, it was just before Christmas, and I got laid off. My husband was a teacher at the time, and we were barely getting by. Every month we robbed Peter to pay Paul, and there never seemed like there was an end in sight for our financial situation…which was BROKE. So I remember this overwhelming feeling of knowing that I never wanted to be in that position again. A position where someone else has control over whether I make a paycheck or not. I knew I had a massive amount of drive, work ethic and abilities…I just needed to find the right opportunity to channel that through. I needed to know that I could take care of my little family, as we were just getting started out in our married life and after a few short years had two little boys to raise. I think the most important thing I’ve done as a parent, in terms of the impact on my children is continuously teaching them to never give up and to think creatively. I’ve made some poor choices, and some things have happened to me that were out of my control, but I never gave up on my dreams and my goals. I know that my children see how hard I am working to give them a great life, and that I am doing in the right way. When I started by business, it served as a creative outlet for me, a way to spend time with my children, and bring in money.
