There are many habits you have to develop in order to succeed in the tattoo industry. When I first started, much of what I learned I had to figure out the hard way. My best advice to someone who is looking to be successful in any kind of art business would be to stay updated with the latest trends, techniques, and technologies in the industry. Well, there are certainly times where there is a lot more work and a lot less life! But, as we grow, we find ourselves reassessing and adjusting. On top of running our home bakery, we have two children, and it is extremely important to us that we spend quality time with them. This means completely disconnecting sometimes to just be with them. That’s why you’ll find that we are closed on Sundays and Tuesdays. On Sunday, we attend church as a family and spend the day together. Tuesdays are filled with our kids’ activities, so we are closed to be sure we can focus on them and be there for them – even if that means prepping orders for the next day while they sit next to us.
