God, first and always. I’m endlessly inspired by His creations, especially my children. Everything they do feels like magic: the way they chase butterflies, play barefoot in the mud, paint with flowers, and dance in the tree pollen like it’s snow. At times I feel surrounded by things that inspire me. Most times, in fact. It can happen in a flash. Maybe I’ll see a random row of shops while driving past them and begin considering the unique esthetic and tone of everything within the area. Growing up in Houston, there were a lot of local radio deejays and music deejays I was inspired by as well as other personalities across the country. Locally in radio I was inspired by Jammin J, I would listen to his 8pm countdown every weeknight on back then Party 104.9FM. I was always drawn to radio here in Houston listening to personalities like DJ Ebonix, Mad Hatter, and Cesar Augusto. My dad has been a DJ since the 80s here in Houston, so you can say I was born into this crazy world that is deejaying and ultimately having the opportunity to be in radio. On a national level some of the radio personalities that I look up to even today are Alex Sensation from New York, DJ Camilo, Big Boy on the radio and an old school radio personality named Kid Kelly.
