For women especially, you hear the term “you can’t have it all.” I reject this line of thinking completely. The notion that you are only allowed to have one – a career or a family. A job or being creative. An unbalanced life? No. I believe that you can, in fact, have it all. You just have to be strategic, open and ready for opportunities and envision it in your heart of hearts. I have a full-time career in public relations, but I also have a family, a 2-year-old daughter and a full-fledged creative business that I’ve sustained for 5 years. I volunteer, I make time for my friends and family – and I also make sure to make time for myself. “Stick to a real job” I seem to always hear this from people who are miserable in their own lives, and most importantly, hate their job! Whenever I hear this I think, stick to a real job so I can be as miserable as you are because you gave up on your dreams? No thank you!
