When I became a scientist and engineer I looked around trying to find other minority girls in my industry. Sadly, there were not any around! In fact, I found out that there is only less than 2% Hispanic females in science and engineering careers. Throughout my professional career I helped as many schools as I could to get all kids and a lot of girls interested in STEM careers. Unfortunately, most kids find science interesting but perceive it as difficult and boring! On that day my life change. It became my goal and passion to show kids that science can be both interesting and easy to understand if you study it through hands-on experimentation.
