We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexa GALLETTI and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexa, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve always loved makeup, skincare, everything beauty related, not because it will make me look pretty but because it let’s me express myself. In the makeup industry there’s always room for something new, something creative, and that is something that makes me happy.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Like everything in life it wasn’t easy, having people supporting me, nowadays this industry even though I feel there’s space for everyone, there’s always some sort of rivalry and I’m not that person, I will never put down anyone to put myself above, I always wanted to gained followers that would actually be there to interact, ask questions, be like a friend. After I gained some followers I started focusing on working with brands, it wasn’t easy, still is not as easy, even though many brands come to me and I am so thankful for that, there are things that are not as it seems, some brands do not value the creator. I have learned that I needed to value myself for other brands to see me. It’s not always just the amount of followers you have, it’s the content you create, I still have a lot to learn, but I can say that I’m very proud of what I have accomplished this past year.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love being outdoors, one of my favorite places in Downtown are the Houston Arboretum Center, Zilker Metropolitan Park is the best, you get to walk and relax, while also having the best view of the Downtown, the aquarium and NASA are also good options. I would take her to Surfside Beach, Kemah boardwalk is another favorite, I also love going to bars and supporting local bands, I like heavy metal, some of my favorite places are Scout Bar, House of Blues, Warehouse Live.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom has always been my biggest fan, she always hypes me up, she’s literally the best, I remember when she got me my first makeup kit I was 13 because I always wanted to used hers, hahaha, I want to also thank Nico is also always there complimenting me, and telling me to keep going, to never give up. Also, to my followers who always have been there supporting me.
