We had the good fortune of connecting with KAT Troulinos and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi KAT, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?

“When people ask why I started HeartSpace Hypnosis, the answer really began long before the business itself.

Years ago, I used self-hypnosis to quit smoking. That experience opened my eyes to something powerful: lasting change doesn’t happen through willpower alone. It happens when we change the patterns operating beneath conscious awareness.

As I moved through my own life experiences, challenges, and personal growth, I noticed that many people were living from old programming—beliefs, habits, fears, and stories they never consciously chose. They wanted change, but they kept getting pulled back into the same patterns.

At the same time, my work in design taught me something similar. Whether it’s a home or a life, transformation isn’t about adding more. It’s about removing what no longer serves and creating space for what truly belongs.

That realization became the foundation of HeartSpace Hypnosis.

I started this business because I wanted to help people move from living by default to living by design. Through hypnosis, NLP, and mindset work, I help clients identify the patterns that are holding them back and create new ones that support who they want to become.

The most rewarding part isn’t just helping someone stop smoking, reduce anxiety, lose weight, or overcome a fear. It’s watching them reconnect with their own potential and realize they are far more capable than they believed.

HeartSpace was created from the belief that transformation is possible for everyone. Sometimes people don’t need more information. They need access to the part of themselves that already knows how to change.”

“If I could leave people with one thought, it would be this: You are not stuck. Many of the patterns running your life were learned, and what was learned can be changed.”

That final line is memorable and interview-worthy. It also perfectly reflects your HeartSpace message of **Living by Design, Not by Default.**

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart is that I see transformation through a different lens.

For many years, I worked helping people transform their homes and spaces. Along the way, I noticed something interesting. People often approached change in their lives the same way they approached change in their homes. They knew something wasn’t working, but they had become so accustomed to it that they no longer saw it clearly.

Over time, I became fascinated by the patterns behind the patterns. Why do some people make lasting changes while others stay stuck even when they genuinely want something different? That question led me to study personal transformation, NLP, and the subconscious mind.

What I love most is helping people recognize that they are not their habits, their fears, their past mistakes, or the stories they’ve carried for years. So often, what people need isn’t more information. They need a new perspective and a safe space to discover what’s been possible all along.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that lasting change rarely comes from force. It comes from awareness. When we become aware of what has been running in the background, we can begin making choices that are aligned with who we truly want to be.

Whether I’m helping someone rethink a room, a relationship, a habit, or a belief, I’m ultimately interested in the same thing: helping people live more intentionally, more authentically, and more in alignment with the life they were created to live.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a best friend came to visit for a week, I’d want them to experience the things that make this area feel special to me….not just the tourist spots.

One of our first stops would be The Woodlands Waterway and East Shore. It’s a beautiful place to walk, slow down, enjoy the scenery, and remind yourself that life isn’t always meant to be rushed. We’d probably spend time people-watching, exploring local shops, and soaking in the atmosphere.

Food would definitely be part of the adventure because my husband is affectionately known as “Chef Wong Ardee” in our family. He loves great food and cooking, so we’d build much of the week around memorable meals and conversation.

For Greek food, we’d visit Olive Oil Restaurant. For Japanese cuisine, Sapporo is always a favorite. And when we’re craving something healthy and delicious, True Food Kitchen is hard to beat.

Beyond the restaurants, I’d want my friend to experience the things that matter most to me: meaningful conversations, time in nature, laughter, family, and a little room to breathe. Some of my favorite moments aren’t found on an itinerary at all—they happen while sitting by the water, sharing a meal, or enjoying a sunset with people you love.

To me, the best parts of The Woodlands aren’t just the places. They’re the experiences and connections that happen there. That’s what I’d want every visitor to take home with them.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
**Copy Ready**

My shoutout goes first and foremost to God. Looking back, I can see His hand guiding my path, opening doors, closing others, and providing exactly what I needed for each season—even when I couldn’t yet see the bigger picture.

I am also deeply grateful for my husband, whose love, encouragement, and unwavering support have been a constant source of strength throughout my entrepreneurial journey. Building a business can be challenging, and having someone who believes in you during both the victories and the setbacks is a gift I never take for granted.

I’ve also been blessed by remarkable teachers and mentors whose work has influenced my own. Learning from leaders such as Marisa Peer, Ali Campbell, Wayne Dyer, and many others expanded my understanding of personal transformation and helped shape the work I do today.

Most importantly, I want to acknowledge the clients, friends, family members, and even strangers who have crossed my path over the years. Every conversation, every challenge, and every relationship has taught me something. Success is rarely a solo journey. We rise because others encourage us, challenge us, inspire us, and sometimes simply believe in us until we’re ready to believe in ourselves.

For all of those blessings, I am sincerely grateful.

**When I look back, I don’t see a path I created alone—I see a path illuminated one step at a time.**
