We had the good fortune of connecting with Ginna Cox and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ginna, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My business helps the community by letting people feel comfortable and confident in their own skin. My goal is to help each and every person get the best skin of their life and want to actually show off their skin without makeup on! By helping people feel confident in their own skin, happiness is undeniable!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve grown up in the beauty industry, literally, my grandmother and aunt are both hair stylists and my mother is a nail technician. I knew I wanted to be in the beauty industry since I was young but I wasn’t sure what path to take. I’ve struggled with acne since I was a teenager and I have also been addicted to skincare so I knew going to esthetics school was right for me. I knew I wanted to help everyone with any skin issues they had, wether that be acne, pigmentation, dullness, literally anything! I always wanted to see actually results and not do just fluffy facials. All through school I was more focused on the medical side of esthetics. After I graduated I landed a job working under a dermatologist where I dove right into medical aesthetics and I fell in love! I’ve grown and learned so much as an esthetician, learned all kinds of tips and tricks of the trade, learned from people who have been in this industry for years! I take so much pride in offering the latest and most successful advanced, results driven treatments and I strive for the very best results to get everyone feeling the best in their own skin!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a total foodie, so of course my trip would involve lots of restaurants! Our first stop would be brunch at Cellar7, then we would make our way down to Galveston and have dinner at Katie’s Seafood! Stop by the strand and do a little shopping and since it’s March we would hit the rodeo that evening!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family and friends are my biggest supporters and the reason I am where I am today! They pushed me to do my best, learn, and step out of my comfort zone. I can’t thank them enough!
