We had the good fortune of connecting with Austyn Cage and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Austyn, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
In my opinion, risks are necessary for growth and self improvement. I think that people deviate away from risks due to the fact that risks are scary. But that’s the whole point. How can you know what you’re truly made of if you never take that “leap of faith?” It’s supposed to be scary. That’s how you grow and learn as a human being. Even if the risk a person takes doesn’t work out in their favor, did they really lose if they learned something from it?

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started off making music in high school with an old Mac desktop, interface and microphone. All I had to use at the time for recording was GarageBand but I just stuck with it and tried to learn as much as I could. When’ I got to college I pursued Audio Engineering because I knew that I still wanted to pursue a career in music. While attending college, I learned a lot about the process of professional engineering as well as a little bit of music business. Being an artist helps me have a creative outlet for my innermost thoughts and feelings. I’m usually a pretty reserved individual and I don’t wear my heart on my sleeve so I tend to use my music to express what I wouldn’t normally say out loud. I am currently working on a brand new album called “KODA” that I will be releasing later on this year. This project might be the thing that I am the most excited about and proud of in my career as an independent artist. I truly cannot wait for the world to hear it!

Red House 409. They are an independent label with a team of engineers, videographers and photographers. I am proud an honored to be a part of the organization and I look forward to seeing how they progress moving forward.
