We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Graham and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jason, can you tell us about a book that has had a meaningful impact on you?
Ever since the Covid pandemic and how our leaders approached it whether positive or negative, I’ve notice that I have become riddled with anxiety. A friend recommended a book entitled, “ Stop Overthinking: 23 Techniques to Relieve Stress, Stop Negative Spirals, Declutter Your Mind, and Focus on the Present.” I am an overthinker from way back. I have always known it and simply accepted the fact that I was going to live my life as an anxious person. This book certainly helps puts things in perspective. It provides multiple realistic and relatively easy techniques for addressing anxiety and overthinking. They make it clear that nothing works immediately, but that practicing and eventually mastering the techniques mentioned will put you well on your way to understanding and accepting your emotions and thoughts for what they are, and move past what they shouldn’t be. I have already started using some of the techniques provided, most useful for me being the 5 senses technique as well as taking a step back, mentally, and allowing the thoughts and emotions to happen an evaluating them. Though I am still currently pretty baseline anxious, I have been able to understand and assess the situations or thoughts that occur that cause me to become so and have stared taking steps towards correcting those mindsets and triggers thanks to this book.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Born in in NYC, Jason Graham is an actor who is best known for Kingdom Business, Walking Dead and All American: Homecoming

Graham left NY at the age of 12 to move to Atlanta Georgia where he attended Middle and High School. He caught the acting bug after auditioning for the famed Northside School of the Performing arts High School and was accepted in the Advance Drama Program as a Freshman.

It was in High School that Graham got a taste of travel. He was in a program at School called Tour Show where certain members of the program would travel to Europe every year to perform. Graham performed in Paris, Brussels and Austria just to name a few. This is when the taste of travel turned into a hunger that needed to be satisfied.
After Graduating High School, Graham moved to Washington, DC for college where he Majored in Law and Theater. Which kind of goes hand in hand being that Graham wanted to be a litigator which is full of theatrics.

After Graduating College, Graham moved back to NYC where he worked various jobs including MTV, Boss Models and Bozell Advertising.

After being in NYC for a year, Graham noticed that all the leaves were brown and the sky was grey. He’d go for a walk on a winters day and figured he’d be safe and warm if he was in LA. That’s right, California Dreamin became a reality when he drove across country to pursue acting.

When Graham arrived to L.A. he obtained an agent right away and started booking numerous National Commercials and TV shows. It was a dream come true.

Graham left Los Angeles after many years of being there to move to Dubai. While living in Dubai, that taste of travel was permeating through his soul. He traveled to India, Amsterdam, London, Oman, and Beirut.

Today, Graham lives in Houston, TX and waiting to see where his next adventure will lead him.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When friends come to town, The goto places I try to take them or tell them go are:

Smither Park, Grafitti Park, The Houston Famer’s market on Airline, Water Wall, Brazos Bend State Park for the pretty unique experience if the weather is warm, The Ship Channel Boat tour is cool. An Astros game is a pretty fun time. As far as Restaurants, my favorites are, Coastline Pizzeria, Buena Vista, Space Cowboy and Skylawn rooftop at POST HTX

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shout out to Antonio RUFINO. He was the one that convinced me to attend my first Yoga Class. Because of this, I was compelled to create yoga mats with affirmations written on them and AFFIRMATS was born.
