Decision Makers Series: avoiding decision fatigue by adopting effective habits


There’s a ton of research around how setting habits can help us conserve energy because it reduces the number of decisions we have to make in a day. However, not all habits are created equal and so we’ve asked our community to tell us about the habits they have been most effective for them.

Many times, habits such as being very “Type A”, “Obsessive Compulsive”, a perfectionist, etc can have a very negative connotation. For me, it happened to be these parts of my personality that drove success in opening my business. Being a planner, following through, double checking and generally having a need to do everything to the very best of my ability opened doors for me to succeed. I believe that in small business ownership, it’s all in the details. Especially in it’s early years. The habits that have helped me succeed would be effective marketing, discipline and motivation daily in what I do. I strongly believe that the way you market and advertise your business is very important. Your marketing is a reflection of who you are and what you perceive your brand to be. I am very disciplined in my marketing, networking and advertising and very confident in the marketing my brand is a representation of.
