We had the good fortune of connecting with Tianna Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tianna, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I used to see taking risks as a scary thing, and I sometimes still second-guess my decisions. However, I realize that I’ve been taking risks since I decided to jump into the fashion industry. Taking risks is very motivating, not only for myself but also for others, because it shows that you’re not afraid to try new things, be open to learning, and strive for more.

Risk-taking has benefited my career in many ways. It has allowed me to explore various aspects of the fashion industry, including modeling, styling, acting, writing, and traveling.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others is my drive and punctuality. I constantly strive to learn new things and do as much as I can to be knowledgeable in my field. I am most excited about graduating this December with a degree in fashion merchandising. I look forward to using my degree to build my dream career in the fashion industry.

This year, I slowed down on modeling to focus more on the behind-the-scenes aspects of the industry, working as a student and stylist assistant. I’ve enjoyed studying abroad in London and Paris, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to assist one of Texas’ best stylists, Des Torres, owner of DesjaChanel Boutique.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I currently live in San Antonio. I’m a chill person and don’t really like going out a lot, but there are some cool places I enjoy that I know my best friend would love. One of them is Kobe’s for sushi. We’re both sushi lovers, and their lunch hour is all-you-can-eat. The sushi there is so fresh and delicious.

I’d also take her to the Pearl in the afternoon to walk around and take cute pics. For nightlife, if we’re in the mood to relax, we might go to the movies. But if we want to go out, one of my favorite spots downtown is The Moon’s Daughters. I really enjoy a rooftop bar with a pretty view. It’s great for pictures and has a classy vibe.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give credit and recognition to my family for always supporting me and my dreams. They are my day ones and have been there through the good and the bad. I also want to give a shoutout to all the amazing individuals in the arts industry. It’s a tough and demanding field, and I get inspired every day by seeing others achieve great things. This encouragement motivates me to keep pursuing my goals.
