We had the good fortune of connecting with Quietstorm Ayers and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Quietstorm, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Being authentic and true to who i am and who I am striving to become is the most important factor for me and what is the success behind my brand. In all aspects I strive to BE a pinnacle leader.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Quietstormcafe: As I stated earlier, my authenticity sets me a part from others. I also challenge the perspective of those deeply. People do not like to think anymore, so the work I share makes you think and second guess your own life, thoughts, actions, and anything else that challenges the ego, pride. and the character of a person. As an educator I have expanded my range of teaching through my poetry, words, and presence. I have several entities under the company. A Self-Expression workshop that teaches women men and children how to emotionally express themselves through writing. Its main purpose is to reopen the minds and hearts of those who have been systematically suppressed by ways of society. A four part book collection of Letting my Scent Linger with Words ; A Memoir of Her poetry book where i supposed to be sharing a poem online called, A poetry break with Quietstormcafe and then breaking down the poem, We provide tutoring services in the areas of Writing and Reading, Project HONLUE is for those with Special Needs. Teaching them life-skills, character building, and other advancements that will help them maneuver through life better. Lastly, Financial Literacy. Being an investor in different industries, I’ve learned how to spend one dollar and i teach that to those who are open to listen to the principles of wealth building. Those are a few of the main components of Quietstormcafe. Quietstormcafe got to where it is today by many failed attempts and by observing the masses and doing the opposite. Accomplishing anything great will not be easy! I overcome all challenges by God’s grace and mercy on my life. I’ve never prayed for any of this or wanted this so that’s how I know that this is my purpose, rather a part of it. Over the years I have learned a lot about myself, others, society, and the ways of this cruel world. I’ll like for everyone to know that

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, I do not have a best friend. However, the people who allow me to intercept their lives and those who intercept mines, it will be quite an adventurous week. If it falls on the 1st or 3rd Tues if will be joining at my Rotary Club of Hermann Park meetings, doing things with the Multipurpose Center in 3rd ward for the seniors and students at Blackshear, they have a garden and we partnered with them, community meetings and events, I hang out on Almeda Rd so you’ll see my friends and people. Shape Community Center. I am spontaneously organized so it all depends on the day and what is particularly scheduled. I enjoy thrifting, so, that would be an adrenaline rush finding great antiques and clothing for a low price. Museums, I’ve been put onto happy hours, so I know some great places that has great happy hours, food joints that has great customer service and food. I enjoy supporting mostly Black Owned establishments and businesses so it’ll be that most of the time unless they want something else. That’s really it, other than the minor things I do that i will not share. There are plenty to do it Houston, the person can just tell me what they want to do and I can pretty much make it happen.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I can give credit to quite a few people that have helped me enhance the value I have on my life. God. My mentors that guide and challenge me daily. My spiritual father. Colleagues from the organizations I am a part of. Books that helped me define my principle based learning and mind. The acquaintances and friends that are patient with me and my journey to impacting the lives of the people locally and globally. My family. The people who doubted me. The ones who turned their backs on me and talked about me. Everyone has played a role in my growth and support. Good and Bad.
