We had the good fortune of connecting with Atiya Wright Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Atiya, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
This is actually a hard one. Success is different for everyone. Some may think that success is in cars and clothes, for some it’s being rich. For me success would be me having a building to call my own and not having to worry what bill will or will not be paid. Growing my clientele is me getting towards my success and when I get there, I’ll make another goal to achieve.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Truthfully, I don’t look to others to see what makes me different. I stay in my own lane and I continue to be the best me possible for my business and my clients.

There is always room for improvement and everyday I get better and wiser. Nothing that you work for comes easy due to many obstacles you go through but you don’t let that denture you from you goals.

Just simply believing that you will get through the challenges helps you get through it.

I like to believe I am a free spirited person who cares about the overall health of my clients.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well being my best friend and I , we’re from Houston, we’ve pretty much gone a few places. If you an out of towner, I’d say got to KISS. The vibes, music and food is everything. A place I have not yet been is Lost and Found.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Honestly, I’d have to give thanks to my creator for giving me the strength to keep going even when I’m ready to give up.
