We had the good fortune of connecting with Paige Crutcher and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Paige, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Authenticity is key. The Adultish Whines podcast is built on real talk and real experiences. Every guest must be willing to “keep it real,” offering their honest perspectives, even when discussing challenging or vulnerable topics. We seek out individuals who are unafraid to laugh at themselves, admit their mistakes, or share their wisdom with humility. It’s important for me, as the host to continue to keep the space safe for my guests and listeners to laugh, cry, and maybe even learn something about yourself while navigating the ups and downs of adulthood. No filters, no judgment—just open, honest conversation.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
If you would have told me, the first thing I was going to do after moving to Houston from Los Angeles, was start a podcast?! Could never be me – and then it was! Never in a million years did I think I would ever be in front of a camera, especially since I worked behind the camera for years in the TV/Movie Industry. I’ve always felt passionate about entertaining others and bringing joy to people especially during the hard times. Whether this was through story-telling or distracting someone’s bad day with a crazy dance. Adultish Whines was born after someone suggested I start a digital journal so they could follow along with my crazy life. I used to lovingly call myself a quitter, but now I know, I was only quitting because I hadn’t found my THING. I know it’s my thing because it is the hardest thing I’ve ever done and I’ve never once thought about quitting. There have been many tear-filled nights teaching myself everything to do with editing audio & video, cameras, cords, software and more…I’ve also learned such powerful, personal lessons – to trust myself, that it’s ok to ask for help and that I can do hard things.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would have to make sure they are coming to town during the Houston Rodeo! Being from Los Angeles, there is nothing like the Houston Rodeo and especially the Cookoff. We are hitting all of the food groups while they’re here as well. For BBQ – The Pitroom, Mexican, Papasitos and Dona Leti’s. My favorite area in Houston is The Heights – it’s walkable and I love to see all different types of people out about about. We’re hitting up Decant Winery for some wine and games and Permission Whiskey for the best Old Fashioned. La Lucha for the fried chicken and oysters. Definitely making time for the Museum of Natural Science. Last but certainly not least, we are getting all the family and friends together that I have made in Houston and hosting a backyard party with the best food, laughs and vibes I’ve ever seen!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe huge Thank You’s to so many people along the way! I’ll name a few – without Carolyn saying yes to starting a podcast with me 4 years ago, I don’t know if I would have had the motivation to do it on my own. To my sisters for always supporting my crazy ideas and answering my panicked phone calls. Evan and Christine thank you for believing in me and for all of the creative ideas and graphics. Thank you to Cinqo for gassing me up and spending endless hours in the studio with me. Jarrod and Kiana – the opposite of gatekeepers. Carolina, Jake and the rest of The Nightcap crew – where would AW be without y’all? Thank you!
