Meet Blanca Gonzalez | Men’s hair salon owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Blanca Gonzalez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Blanca, how do you think about risk?
My life has been full of Risk. Opening a business was one of the scariest things in life as I really didn’t know what I was doing shoot I don’t know what I am doing still .
What I do know if I hadn’t taken risk my kids would not be where they are today. They would sadly be a statistic

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I offer an experience and not just a hair cutting place. I want to give men a place they look forward to and not give them something to check off the list of things to do. A place to disconnect and recover from the day .
I got to where I am today by putting in the work. Looking at the competitors and figuring how we can improve.
Nothing about business is easy by any means that’s for sure. I have learned that in order to live a non ordinary life you have to to unordinary things.
I want the world to know that men deserve a place to quiet the noise of life. That it can be luxurious and cozy. That a good haircut can make a man feel great and that they matter that’s it’s not about meeting a quota.
That they matter! I want my brand to show the world that taking time for yourself is not selfish but self care !

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Houston has so much to offer. This is a difficult answer as it really depends the time of year. For example right now I would take them to the Rodeo and show them the extravaganza that it is. In the summer of course Kimah and Galveston or our awesome water parks. A night in the town in the woodlands maybe catch a concert at the pavilion or just biding the waterway. Take her to many of our amazing restaurants and breweries. The list is endless!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My girls and my mom where definitely my motivation and my biggest cheerleaders. Never doubting that I could do anything.
Then there where my amazing clients who I now call friends who have cheered me on, given me great advice and have stood by my side through some hardships.
Most importantly my God who never failed me and always said I was made for more and could do more.
