We had the good fortune of connecting with Dezarre Caldwell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dezarre, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Originally, I started doing bouquets as a hobby: creating bouquets for my family and friends on special occasions. I taught myself how to work with flowers and studied the resources put out by other florists that I admire. I wanted to personalize my bouquets and create experiences and lasting memories. I’ve always had a love for receiving flowers and the way they make memorable moments, evoke emotions, and bring beauty to any space. After creating different types of bouquets , and doing some research, I realized the demand for unique, personalized bouquets was there. I then decided to take it seriously and officially launch THE FLORAL STREET . What started as a hobby quickly evolved into a thriving business dedicated to creating and bring beauty to special moments. After two years in the business, I took a leap of faith and wanted my business to expand. I started not only making bouquets, but started offering floral arrangements and floral backdrops for weddings, proposal, holidays , baby showers, and any other special events in demand for floral decorations. It end up being one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Seeing my work and the reactions on my clients face when receiving their arrangements , reminds me everyday that I’m walking in my purpose.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
THE FLORAL STREET is more than just making bouquets and floral arrangements , for me it is my happy place. It is about creating unforgettable moments and capturing people’s emotions. What sets me apart from others is my attention to detail. In every floral arrangement, I pay attention to every detail that is given to me by my customers. This ensures them a thoughtful and unique vision to make it truly special. I began researching ,studying, and practicing proper techniques on how to create and care for flowers. It wasn’t easy, but trusting the process , staying consistent, and watching my growth helped me push forward. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that learning never ends. I have the opportunity to grow with every client and arrangement I create, and continue to improve my craft. What I want the world to know is that THE FLORAL STREET isn’t just about flowers. It’s about making sure life moments are celebrated beautifully. The Floral Street is rooted with uniqueness and resilience. I’m blessed to be able to continue my journey.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I were to entertain my best friend in Houston, I would try new places. Houston is full of different diverse neighborhoods with amazing food and unique spots to visit. I would start off at a food truck park , so we could have many different options of food. The Houston Galleria food truck park is one of my favorites. Each truck is different and you have many different options. Post Houston would be another eating spot to visit . For hanging out , I’ll suggest going to some of the many pop-up events going on almost every weekend. It’s so interesting seeing all the different items being sold. Houston is such a great place to visit/live. There are so many opportunities for small business owners like myself.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, I would like to Thank God. Without him none of this would be possible. I would also love to shout out the amazing support of my family. They have helped me so much with my business , from brainstorming ideas, to being a helping hand , and just simply constantly giving me words of encouragement. Their love has played a huge role in my success. To all my friends , I love you all! Thank you for helping me share my business, liking all my content, and supporting me through everything. And last ,but not least , I’m incredibly grateful for the all the people who continue to support my business, whether by sharing my work, cheering for me , or trusting me to provide quality floral arrangements . THE FLORAL STREET would not be what it is today without the incredible and unwavering support of my community.
