Meet Dr. Tamara White

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Tamara White and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Tamara, how do you think about risk?
When I think about risk taking, I look at it as taking a ‘chance’ on me or as taking a leap of faith which has been one of my mantras in life and career. If you don’t bet on yourself who will. Taking a leap of faith is qualified by looking at the perspective of the outcome you are looking for and hoping for the best. Of course there are risks that can weigh heavily, but thought before taking that risk is important.
I took ‘a chance’ in attending college when many of my fellow students did not because during that time it was easier to get a job and make fine wages without a degree.
My life and career have been surrounded by taking ‘a chance’ on myself. As a freshman in college I took a chance and joined the Army Reserves because I needed income to pay for my first car and also understood that I would be serving my country. While the immediate need was income, the long-term “return” was immeasurable. Beyond the financial assistance, it instilled in me a profound sense of discipline, civic duty, and the power of serving a purpose larger than myself. It was a calculated risk – balancing academic pursuits with military commitment – that yielded a “win-win” far beyond a car payment.
I guess when I think about it all of my life I have taken chances on myself because I have always wanted better for my life and career. Perhaps the most fulfilling ‘risk’ I’ve taken is the development of my coaching brand. Having a long career as a licensed counselor I could have easily continued down that path, but instead I want to step into the entrepreneurial arena. This would allow me to amplify my impact…one to many.
I wanted to empower a broader audience to embrace their potential, navigate the things that hold them down and learn to live courageously. In other words learn to ‘take a chance’ on themselves.
In my career I have helped thousands of individuals through this very process. Reframing their perception of risk so they can launch towards a purposeful life.
So when I think about risk-taking it has been with me all of the time; an active ingredient in a life well-lived by taking an investment in myself

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business, Tamara White Coaching empowers you to live a courageous and purposeful life. As your Divine Disruptor, I break down the habits and patterns causing burnout and stress. My coaching helps you reclaim energy, rediscover purpose, and build lasting well-being.
I combine my licensed counselor background with action-oriented coaching. I help clients find root causes of burnout, not just manage symptoms. We work together on things such as setting boundaries and challenging limiting beliefs. I use a holistic approach, integrating mind, body, and spirit.
I’m most excited about seeing the transformation in clients after working with me. In addition, most excited when I have the opportunity to speak on stage to share my message with the masses!
Starting a business is not for the faint at-heart. It’s a journey that definitely comes with its challenges, but I just dug in one foot in front of the other and kept going despite the definite ups & downs. I found it important to find groups or places to network with others in the entrepreneurial space. Finding an accountability partner is helpful also. Getting support and believing in yourself are key. One thing I know for sure, you cannot do it alone. Learn to ask for help.
What do I want the world to know about my brand:?
Your potential is limitless. The life you dream of is possible. I’m your Divine Disruptor, guiding you to break free from stress and live boldly. Take a chance on your life where you thrive.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Day 1: Arrival & Downtown Delights
Afternoon Arrival: Pick up my friend from the airport
Return to my home. Sit and visit then freshen up for the evening.
o Dinner: Start with a bang at a classic Houston restaurant like 4-Star Eddie V’s Prime Seafood in
the Memorial area for a more upscale, celebratory first night.
o From here walk over to hear live music on the plaza in the same area
Day 2: Culture and Green Spaces
Morning: ease into breakfast and conversation.
o Museum District: Spend the morning in the Museum District. You could easily spend the whole
day here, but with a week, you can pick and choose. Consider:
Depending upon what’s available we might choose either The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston
(MFAH): A fantastic and diverse collection or
The Houston Museum of Natural Science: Always a crowd-pleaser with the dinosaur skeletons
and the value vault.
o Lunch: Grab a casual and delicious lunch in the Museum District. Agnes Cafe & Provisions or
Bodegas Taco Shop are good options. Great ratings.
Afternoon:
o Hermann Park: We will wander through the beautiful Hermann Park. I can rent a pedal boat on
the lake, stroll through the Japanese Garden, or visit the Houston Zoo (another potential full-day
activity later in the week).
Evening:
o Dinner: Head to the Stafford/Missouri City area for dinner at Hopdoddy Burger bar. This area is
up and coming and has become quite popular.
o Drinks & late night fun, we can hit The Main Event in Stafford for bowling, arcades, games &
challenges with prizes
Day 3: Shopping & Upscale Vibes
Morning:
o The Galleria: Even if you don't buy anything, a visit to The Galleria is a Houston experience. It's
one of the largest malls in the US with an ice rink inside!
Lunch: Have lunch at one of the many restaurants in The Galleria, or venture just outside for
something different. True Food Kitchen is a healthy and tasty option nearby.
Afternoon:
o Uptown Park/River Oaks District: Explore the more upscale shopping and dining areas of
Uptown Park or the River Oaks District.
Evening:
Happy Hour/Dinner: Enjoy happy hour and dinner in the River Oaks District. Brasserie 19 is a
popular and lively French spot which I can’t wait to try.
Day 4: A Day Trip to Galveston or Space Center Houston
Option 1: Galveston Island:
o Morning: Take a day trip down to Galveston Island (about an hour's drive, depending on traffic).
o Activities: Walk along the Seawall, visit Moody Gardens (pyramids with rainforest, aquarium,
and more), ride the rides at Pleasure Pier, or just relax on the beach.
o Lunch: Enjoy fresh seafood on the island. Gaido's is a Galveston institution.
o Afternoon: Continue exploring Galveston.
o Evening: Have dinner in Galveston before heading back, or have a more casual dinner back in
Houston.
Option 2: Space Center Houston:
o Full Day: Dedicate the entire day to exploring Space Center Houston. Take the tram tour to see
the historic Mission Control, the astronaut training facilities, and the Rocket Park. There are tons
of exhibits to see.
o Lunch: Grab lunch at the Space Center.
o Evening: Have a more relaxed dinner back in Houston after a full day of space exploration.
Consider a casual but delicious spot like Torchy's Tacos (a Texas favorite).
Day 5: Foodie Exploration & Neighborhood Vibes
Morning:
o Breakfast/Brunch: Start the day with an amazing Houston brunch. Breakfast Klub, long lines, but
so worth it.
Late Morning/Afternoon:
Explore The Heights: Charming with Victorian architecture, unique shops, and great restaurants.
Walk along 19th Street.
Late Afternoon:
o Dinner:
The Heights: Coltivare (Italian with a focus on fresh ingredients),

"Best Time Ever" in Houston!
