Meet Elisabel Borges | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Elisabel Borges and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elisabel, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always loved photography, and as a stay-at-home mom, I saw it as the perfect way to combine my passion with a way to contribute financially to my household. I love that I can help families preserve their memories, all while building something meaningful that supports my loved ones.

What should our readers know about your business?
Starting my own photography business was challenging. As a stay at home mother with two little ones, the time was tight. Due to lack of babysitter, i could only take one session a week. My husband has a very unpredictable work schedule so mostly i had to take my babies with me. We thought it would take at least 6 months for inquiries to pickup but to our surprise inquiries came one after another. In less than 3 months i was able to build my studio with what i was making with the photography sessions. I think is because i have a passion for quinceañera photography and maternity photos. I can get very creative with the poses and editing. I really love what i do and im in a really happy place right now. Ultimately once i have more help with my babies, i will be covering quinceañera events. Right now im only able to do Maternity sessions in studio and quinceanera photo sessions outdoors. Balancing being a business owner with the responsibilities of the home and family is really challenging but thanks to my husband that supports me and helps me with what he can im able to keep my business going. 3 months in and I am tired but very happy that my business has picked up the way it did.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to the beach, Texas city or Surfside beach. Also to Kemah, have some birria tortas at the txbirriaboyz food truck.

My husband Anibal, has supported me since the very beginning!
