We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Ferreira and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I genuinely care about my customers. I want them to have the best experience when they have a cookie from Half Baked and if it wasn’t the best experience I do my best to make it better. I treat my customers the way I would like to be treated and it’s just cookies. 🙂

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started this business because cookies just make you happy and warm fresh cookies delivered to your door is pure joy! That’s what sets me apart. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been inspired to deliver cookies to someone only to find out their family member was very sick or they were having a horrible day and when I show up with warm, fresh cookies at their doorstep, they just cry. This is why I do what I do. It’s such a simple thing, cookies, but it makes all the difference and it’s even better because they’re delicious! :). I want everyone to enjoy a cookie so I created cookies for every diet: keto, paleo, gluten free, vegan and sugar lovers. It definitely wasn’t easy. I have never owned a business. It was trial and error trying to figure out best practices. Every month I come up with a new cookie and it can be a long process tweaking it so it’s perfect and it’s frustrating when it doesn’t work out like I planned in my head. I’ve learned that I’m going to make some horrible cookies, and that’s okay because eventually I’ll get the perfect one.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Well depending on the time of year I would take them to do different things. I love going to watch the Texans and the Rockets. I would take them to a broadway show at the Hobby Center. Go downtown and stroll through the tunnels or rent a paddle boat in The Woodlands. Take them to eat Tex Mex and BBQ. Go to Galveston and enjoy some fresh fish. I love Hermann park and the zoo and the museums. Not sure a week is long enough.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutouts go to my customers! They have spread the news of my little cookie company and even contacted you on my behalf. They help me with aspects of the business and truly want to help me succeed. I wouldn’t be here today without them. I have the best customers. Shoutouts to my workers. I appreciate them going the extra mile and caring about our company. They go above and beyond to help me and do so without complaining. Shoutouts to my family. They have had to bear the burden of starting a business and done so as champs. They have been patient and understanding and spent countless hours helping. My little dream would never have come true without their support. I am incredibly grateful for all these people and friends and all the new friends I’ve made with this business.
