We had the good fortune of connecting with Frances Jones-Coleman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Frances, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of Full Circle Family Services is trust. Families invite us into one of the most vulnerable and sacred moments of their lives, and that requires deep trust. Not just in our clinical skills, but in our compassion, cultural respect, and commitment to their wellbeing. We’ve built that trust by listening to families, meeting them where they are, and providing care that is personalized, evidence based and rooted in community.

Another key factor is connection. We don’t just provide midwifery care; we create relationships. From prenatal visits to postpartum support, we focus on education, empowerment, and making sure parents feel seen, heard, and supported. That consistent, family centered approach has allowed our practice to grow through word of mouth and community support.

At the heart of our success is staying true to our mission: making safe, holistic, and compassionate care accessible to all families, especially those who have historically been underserviced.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Full Circle Family Services is a midwifery practice dedicated to providing safe, compassionate, and family-centered care. We offer home and birth center births, Connected Care for families who want midwifery support with a hospital birth, hospital doula services, childbirth education, and postpartum support like newborn care classes, placenta encapsulation, belly binding, craniosacral therapy, and vaginal steams.

What sets us apart is the personal relationship we build with families. We take time to listen, educate, and truly empower them to make informed choices about their care. Families don’t just see us as providers; they see us as partners walking with them through one of the most transformative times in their lives.

I am most proud of creating a space where families, especially women of color and those who have felt unseen in the healthcare system; can feel safe, respected, and supported. Getting here wasn’t easy. Midwifery is still not fully understood or accepted by everyone, and as a Black woman building a business in healthcare, I’ve had to overcome both financial challenges and bias. I pushed through by staying rooted in my mission, leaning on my faith, and surrounding myself with mentors and a strong support system.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success comes through consistency and connection. Families don’t just remember the care you provide; they remember how you made them feel. That’s what drives me every day and what continues to grow Full Circle Family Services.

What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that birth is not just a medical event; it’s a sacred, transformative journey. At Full Circle Family Services, we believe every family deserves compassionate, culturally respectful, and empowering care, no matter where or how they choose to give birth.

I want people to know that midwifery care is about more than catching babies; it’s about building trust, educating families, honoring their choices, and supporting them beyond pregnancy into parenthood. Our work is rooted in community, faith, and the belief that when we care for mothers well, we strengthen families, and when we strengthen families, we strengthen the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Houston has such a rich culture and so many hidden gems. When it comes to food, I love; Lucille’s, Dish Society, Canderlari’s Italiano, Hungry’s, Grace’s and the list goes on. For coffee and breakfast, I enjoy The Breakfast Klub located in the inner loop. Some of my favorite places to visit are Houston’s museums and parks. I love Hermann Park for relaxing with my family. Selfcare is super important; so while you are here a stop at Lavender and Sage for a relaxing mani pedi is a must and stop by Thrive Drip Spa for an IV vitamin therapy. When I just want to hang out, I enjoy being with friends at a local karaoke spot, farmers’ markets, or other Houston’s vibrant culture events. There’s always something to do. Make sure to stop by the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo for a true Houston experience from the cook off to the carnival; you will have a blast.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I have to give credit to God; my faith has carried me through this journey and continues to guide my work. I also want to honor my husband, Jeoffrey, who has been my rock, supporting me through the long hours, the sacrifices, and the calling of this work. My sister, Jennifer, and my close friends have also been incredible sources of encouragement, always reminding me of my purpose when things felt heavy. And I absolutely have to acknowledge my midwifery preceptor Afua Hassan. She poured into me with her wisdom, guidance, and example and I wouldn’t be the midwife I am today without her mentorship.
