Meet Curtis Edwards | Educator & therapist in training

We had the good fortune of connecting with Curtis Edwards and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Curtis, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my brand is making space for bigger men of color and allow them to be seen as powerful, handsome, attractive, and wanted

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started in education in 2015 as a teachers assistant. It was not an easy job it was a lot of hard work grunt work and learning fast and on my feet. I overcame adversity by really listening intently and allowing learning to grow naturally. I want the world to know that leading with love, and pure intentions, good things come to you in due time
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take my friend to discovery green for a relaxing time outside and Parkerz for a chill vibe. Also the Montrose area is a great time surround by great people

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely there have been so many people who have been a part of my support system and my mentorship as I matriculate through my career education, one person I can say who has been a solid support system and mentor is my former principal Brishaun Burren from the moment we met, we instantly clicked and her selflessness her genuineness and her commitment to serving children allow me to see what selfless love look like and what a commitment to education look like. Also, I have to shut out my support system my mother, Ms Lydia Arroyo and my brother Kevin Edwards. Who’s been along this ride with me continuing to support continuing to be there for me even when there are dark days, so thank you so much to both of you.
