Meet Mina Hammond | Founder of Life of the Party Celebration | Mobile Ultrasound Specialist & Baby Shower Experience Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mina Hammond and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mina, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My goal isn’t just to provide ultrasound pictures. I help families slow down and celebrate a moment they’ll never get back. I love seeing siblings meet the baby for the first time, grandparents cry happy tears, or dads who couldn’t attend doctor’s appointments finally experience that connection.
Because I’m mobile, I can also reach families who have transportation challenges, high-risk pregnancies that require more rest, or simply want the comfort of home. I hope every family I meet feels seen, cared for, and celebrated.

What should our readers know about your business?
LOTP was created because I wanted families to experience pregnancy in a more personal way. After serving 20 years in the U.S. Navy and working in healthcare, I realized some of life’s most meaningful moments happen outside of a doctor’s office. I wanted to bring those moments into the comfort of families’ homes.
What sets us apart is that we’re more than a mobile ultrasound company we create experiences. Whether it’s helping a dad who couldn’t make a medical appointment see his baby for the first time, including grandparents and siblings, or even hosting baby showers, my goal is to help families celebrate every heartbeat.
Building this business wasn’t easy. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve faced cancellations, financial challenges, and plenty of self-doubt. But every obstacle taught me to stay resilient, keep learning, and never lose sight of my mission.
What I’m most proud of is the trust families place in me. Being invited into someone’s home during such a special chapter of their lives is something I never take for granted.
I want people to know that LOTP isn’t just about ultrasound pictures it’s about creating memories that families will cherish forever. If someone leaves a session feeling more connected, more excited, and more loved, then I’ve done exactly what I set out to do.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were coming to visit, I’d tell them to plan their trip during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. There’s nothing like rodeo season the concerts, the food, the atmosphere, and seeing our city come alive. It’s one of my favorite times of the year.
We’d spend a day exploring the Museum District and another at NASA’s Space Center Houston because it’s such a unique experience. We’d definitely head down to the Kemah Boardwalk for live music, great food, and a walk along the waterfront, and we’d make time for a relaxing day in Galveston to enjoy the beach.
I’m also a big fan of supporting local businesses, so we’d visit local coffee shops and farmers markets throughout the week. And no trip would be complete without dinner at Barcenas Mexican Restaurant in Friendswood it’s one of my favorite places to eat.
More than the places, though, I’d want them to experience the people. Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the country, and that’s one of the things I love most about living and working here. Every neighborhood has its own culture, amazing food, and unique personality. I feel incredibly fortunate that my business allows me to travel all over the Houston area and meet so many wonderful families. To me, that’s what makes Houston feel like home.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I truly believe no one builds a business alone. I’m incredibly grateful to my parents, who have supported me from the very beginning and continue to help behind the scenes at many of my events. Their love and willingness to jump in whenever I need them have meant more than they know.
I also want to thank my children. When my oldest son was just 12 years old, he came up with the name Life of the Party, and my other son helped create my logo. It means so much to me that a piece of them will always be part of this business, and I’m proud that we’ve built this dream together as a family.
I want to give a special shoutout to my uncle, Xilo Martinez, and Carol Theater, a Latino theater in Houston. Watching him build something that celebrates culture and brings people together inspired me to pursue entrepreneurship with purpose. His mentorship and encouragement gave me the confidence to believe that I could build something meaningful of my own.
Most importantly, I want to thank every family who has trusted me with one of the most precious moments of their lives. Every booking, every kind review, every referral, and every hug after an ultrasound reminds me why I started Life of the Party Celebration. This business may have my name on it, but it has truly been built with the love, support, and trust of an incredible community.
