We had the good fortune of connecting with Ernesto Marenco and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ernesto, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Because, the art have the power to transform the reality. Also the art is a style life.

It took many years to recognize that being an artist is not a decision, but a necessity that you cultivate and execute in a natural way.
After working as a curator and museographer for 12 years, and organizing nearly 500 national and international exhibitions at the Internationsl Historic Museum Borda Garden, summer mansion, during the second Mexican Empire, – Emperor of Mexico Maximilian of Habsburg-Austria (1882-1867  ), and his wife Carlota Amalia of Belgium, I can personally say that much of art is not to be seen, but to feel, that art is not a job, it is language, that art is not a concept, but a meaning, that  art is not a trend, but permanence, and that art is not studied, it is lived.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The more difficult thing in the artistic world, is to found your personal voice, and your view of the world. Some many creative people think, they are artist because they used artistic material, make a shows because they have contact friends have art gallery, museum, or simply they want to be famous, they live in a fantasy. The real art, its not for decoration, or souvenir. The art is another think, more deeper, because the our job is to documenting the history and conditions of the humans being. Don’t exist any art school, to show you how to be talent, maybe teach you, used different techniques that’s it. Ironically in the history of the art, we have been the self-taught artists we want to have made the avant-garde difference with a strong and intelligent art. Thats why, when you see a chrome bunny of the ” artist” bisnnes man Kons, to sale in 91 millions dollars, you just want to laugh or cry,  and the reason why, it’s not about the money, it’s about of stupidity.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Everything inside the loop is fine, but principal, the Museum District, and of course the crazy nights in Montrose. For a short trip Austin is good option too.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
