We had the good fortune of connecting with Balloon Josh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Balloon, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I believe the most important factor behind my success is my desire to help others. I do balloon art to make other people happy. In over 29 years of doing balloons, I have a flawless record of customer satisfaction. This is because I put the customer first. I want to make their life better. Because of this, to my knowledge, I’ve never had a dissatisfied customer in over 29 years of business.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
There are a few things that set our business apart from others in our industry. We only use the best quality materials. All of our balloons are 100%natural latex, completely plant based, biodegradable, compostable, recyclable, and environmentally friendly. All our facepaints are FDA Approved, hypoallergenic, non-toxic, non-staining, vegan friendly, and Anti-Microbial. We can create anything on the spot, even if it’s something we’ve never made before. We are very good at artistic improvisation. We don’t just use a limited menu of options for our clients to choose from. They can ask for absolutely anything they can think of, and we can create it. We are constantly pushing ourselves to become better and faster. We are coming up with brand new designs and techniques daily. We are innovators. So, every time someone sees us at an event, we will be better than the last time that they saw us.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I have a lot of favorite places in Houston! Houston has sooo much to offer! I’d probably start with a nice breakfast at Katz’s Deli & Bar. Then we would head downtown to discovery Green. We would walk around, sit in the grass and talk, or maybe kick a soccer ball around. Then we’d grab some lunch at La Calle Tacos. Then we’d drive to the Houston Museum of Natural Science. We’d spend several hours there. Then we would walk past Miller Outdoor Theatre to go to the Houston zoo. Afterwards, we would get dinner at The Phoenix. And we would end the day with drinks at Agora.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There have been many people in my life that have contributed to my success, and have helped make me the man that I am today. My parents have always believed in me and have pushed me to pursue my dreams. They instilled in me a strong work ethic and taught me to never give up. My younger sister is always so encouraging and supportive. She bought me my very first balloon kit when we were kids. And she has cheered me on every step of the way. My friend and Teammate, Paris, is always pushing me to think outside the box. She is the one that pushed me to create a TikTok account in the first place. She is always coming up with amazing ideas for us to do together. She is a creative genius. She believes in me, encourages me, and inspires me. And most of all, my amazing wife Amanda, is my biggest cheerleader. I don’t know where I would be in life without her. We make the perfect team. I would not be successful without her. She not only believes in me, but she also challenges me to be my best. She brings out the best in me.
