We had the good fortune of connecting with Lynda Attaway and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lynda, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Bevy was formed from personal experience. I was juggling too many responsibilities and our family was out of capacity – no one had time to manage the projects around the house. Something had to change, and my career and my time with my family were the non-negotiables. It was then that I was fortunate enough to partner up with my former employee, Carissa, who was an amazing project manager. I was able to hire her on a part-time basis for a few hours a month to keep all of my home life projects on track. At home I was now put in the position of the decision maker and no longer the executor. What a gift that was to not only to myself, but also to my family. I was no longer carrying around that anxiety or stress with me. Family time was truly family time again. And at work I could be focused on the tasks at hand. I was set up to thrive. We delegate at work, where were the options for delegating projects at home? That did not exist – so we are building that option. And my former employee is now my co-founder.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Bevy brings the art of project management into the home. Bevy empowers families to take control over their time and their space. Bevy works alongside the family to coordinate and manage all.of.the.things. Clients are decision maker while Bevy tees it up and then executes. We essentially become their right-hand wo(man). We are excited every day at Bevy because we get to watch our clients lives change. We can change the dynamics of entire families and we are so honored by this opportunity and the trust placed in us our clients. The relief can often be seen immediately on our clients faces as soon as they realize that we have their back, and they are no longer navigating it alone.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Touring the city with us always involves a car full of kiddos. So we are frequent visitors to the Houston Zoo and the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Add in a train ride around Herman Park and you just can not go wrong. After that a trip down to Kemah will be in order, you just cannot beat the boardwalk for the kids and then stopping at the fish markets to pick up dinner for the adults. Then home for a good old southern shrimp boil and drinks by the pool.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The amount of trust and faith that has been placed in me over the years by so many people has directly lead to my ability to stand where I am today. So many individuals have helped and cheered me along the way, but none more than my husband. His absolute trust in my desires, decisions, and instincts has been unwavering and absolute. I cannot express what a difference it makes taking risks and leaps of faith when you know that someone has your back one hundred percent of the time.
