We had the good fortune of connecting with Joshua jenkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joshua, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from Houston Tx. 3rdWard part of town. Growing up in poverty, I’ve seen a lot at a young age so it taught me responsibility very young. Also growing up not having much it taught me to grind hard and make something of myself and be the respectable man I am today.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Just me being myself sets me apart. I’ve always been a leader. I never follow trends or do what others do to be accepted. I transition that to music in just being myself when I create a song. I love the studio. That’s my safe haven. My music journey has not been easy. On May 24, 2021 makes 16 yrs I’ve been doing music. Of course everyone wants to rap, but my music has meaning. I’ve overcome certain challenges by grinding constantly and learning on my own. I’ve learned to stay consistent even though I have yet to get my YES! I just want the world to finally just “PRESS PLAY” and truly listen and appreciate REAL HIP HOP and understand that Houston as great talent. Most of all appreciate a artist who keeps it real.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love eating. One of my favorite restaurants is TASTE bar. The whole menu is great. I don’t mind going to lounges here and there, but most of the time I love to be around friends and family. Having kickbacks and just simple fun. You can never go wrong with shopping. Also I stay in the gym to stay fit.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout everyone (the few) who truly support my music and that has been there with me through hard times
