We had the good fortune of connecting with Tohan omorodion and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tohan, how do you think about risk?
My thoughts about taking risk is pretty simple. I say risk is inevitable in success. Taking risks in my career and life has created the best opportunities for me thus far. Think about it, If you lay all cards in a deck of cards flat face down on the table, you just never know what’s on the other side of a card until you flip it and that is the right and that is taking risk. Uncertainty in the business world creates opportunities. With knowledge, you can take risks with a higher probability for a better outcome. That is what experience has taught me.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
POPPA Kids Boutique is home to a unique clothing brand “POPPA” as much as it is a boutique that is different from the rest. We pride ourselves in the quality of our clothing; making clothing from organically sourced material that does not only pass the skin test for sensitivity and durability but our clothes are simply adorable and our kids are involved in every step of the process. I look at my boutique and I am most proud of the journey i took to get here seeing that this was merely a dream from my living room couch and a heart for fashion. I am very proud for how far we have come as a company. The road wasn’t easy and it continues to be a work in progress. But it took a lot of hard work and determination but mostly just believing in myself and my dreams. I truly believe that we can so whatever we set our mind on doing. I have learned that nothing is impossible. Herd work pays and not just patience but also persistence is indeed a virtue. It is very important for people to know that POPPA isn’t just another brand, but it’s one born with a love for children and one that should be watched closely because it is here to stay.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definitely can’t come to houston without picking up one of our ankara dresses from POPPA Kids Boutique. I would say to stay around the galleria, or Memorial area the nightlife and scenery there are amazing. definitely visit and african restaurant Aria Suya is one of my favorites. for proper dining, definitely Nobu and Perry’s. In all don’t forget to take a ride out to our most loved clearlake for a boat ride.
