We had the good fortune of connecting with Mary Hafford Dearmon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mary Hafford, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process was to continue a legacy that my late mom founded and humbly serve God. I admire the joy that I bring my customers when they take a bite of their teacakes. I remember watching my mom in the kitchen and enjoying herself and now here I am aspiring and doing exactly what she did.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My mission is that God ministers to his people to meet their needs. Heal them where they hurt. Comfort their soul. He has more than one way to get our attention and comfort our souls at the same time. #A Lil Taste of Heaven, try it……you’ll see!!!!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would eat breakfast at the Breakfast Klub. Lunch @ The Turkey Leg Hut and visit well known memorable sites. I’m a country girl so I would keep it relaxing and spontaneous at the same time.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The most important factor behind my success would be the opportunity to minister through the consistent clientale God abundantly blesses me with. The foundation was laid from my late mother Missionary Mary B. Hafford. My biggest supporter is God, then my spouse Willie R. Dearmon Jr and my 9 year old son Corey G. Buggs II. Growing up my parents always taught us what God and HIS word says stands – Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.”
