We had the good fortune of connecting with Precious Keir and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Precious, how do you think about risk?
If I can be completely honest… I used to be absolutely terrified of taking risk. But you just need to have enough faith, and know that it’ll be worth it. I come from a one income household with eight children. Growing up, no one was coming around my neighborhood passing out handouts. So I started providing for myself at a young age. We had everything we needed, but I got up and got the things I wanted. With working for others for so long I knew I wanted more then any 9-5 job could offer me. Nothing is wrong with a 9 to 5. I just always knew I was different. So 2018 I took my first risk by starting my business Prestige Lash by Precious Keir. In 2020, I started modeling and I even opened Prestige Tingz, my accessories boutique. Every time I order new inventory I’m taking a risk of not selling a single pair of eyelashes, shoes, purses, etc. Every photoshoot I’m taking a risk the photographer won’t capture my vision. But I do not let that hold me back. I live by the motto “Scared money don’t make money”. So I say a prayer before I order my inventory, or do a photoshoot and honestly it’s a success every time.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
As a child, when people would ask what did I want to be when I grew up, I always said a model. I literally had people in my neighborhood who would call me Tyra Banks due to my eye color and long legs. However, from my teenage years to early twenties, I was filled with insecurities from childhood trauma along with the picture perfect lives on social media. You couldn’t pay me to get behind a camera. Sadly, it took me loosing my brother to understand my purpose in life. It was like that pain instantly took away any self doubt, and I became aware of exactly who I was. Now I carry that confidence and prove it through my pictures.

Prestige Lash by Precious Keir was originally started as an eyelash extension company. Due to COVID-19, I had to stop taking clients. But during quarantine I realized I had to figure out how to reach my clients in another way. So I started selling 100% mink handcrafted eyelash strips. To my surprise the Prestige Dolls loved them! So much that I still have not started back doing individual extensions. All of the support I got from the mink lashes made me want to expand my brand. So I started Prestige Tingz, a accessories boutique. Once again, to my surprise it took off!

Of course working full time, owning two businesses, all while pursuing a career in modeling comes with lots of frustration. But I truly believe with proper self care anything is possible. Along the way I’ve learned to understand everything will not go 100% as planned but just to keep going the vision will unfold. Also learned that everyone who started with me, will not be with me in the end. And that’s okay too. Let go of the control and just let life happen. Everything that is meant for you is already yours.

I am always getting outstanding feedback on how cute my photoshoot themes are, on the amazing quality of my eyelashes, or on how unique my accessories are. I feel great knowing my product helped make someone feel beautiful. That’s my ultimate goal. For my Prestige Dolls to feel that “IT” factor when wearing anything from my brand.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Houston, TX is so big and diverse anyone can come here and have a good time. I love Cajun food, steak and sea food. Trying places like BB’s or Guidrys Cajun Kitchen for crawfish. You can go downtown Houston to 3 Forks for steak and experience the many bars in the area right after dinner. Places such as The Turkey Leg Hut or The Address are great for food & fun. The museum district is a perfect place to visit if you appreciate art. Tons of sights to see! On a sunny day you could even take a trip to Kemah or Galveston.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The biggest thanks is to God. It’s a blessing for me to even still be alive today, so all thanks goes to the most high. Next is my family. We’ve endured so much, especially with the death of my brother Odell Hudson in January 2020. But even while dealing with grief, we keep pushing! My parents & siblings are my rock. I love and appreciate each of you for always going above and beyond for me. Shoutout to my wonderful friends who support me. My friends are honestly like my second family. Lastly, but most certainly not least, I want to give a huge shoutout to my Prestige Dolls! It’s because of your support to my businesses that I am where I am today. You all keep me going. Its definitely a blessing, and I truly appreciate each of you.
