We had the good fortune of connecting with Lashanda Barnett and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lashanda, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Hello , I am shonda the face behind stitchedbyshonda . I feel so blessed that you chose me and my story to share. I been braiding hair on and off for about fifththeen years. Finally decided to put some time in this . I knew my hands would be a blessing to others . First i started with kids and worked my way up the ladder to doing adult heads. I was always amazed with different styles of braids and i would say i can do that another way lol.
The reason i named my business stitchedbyshonda thats my imprint i’m leaving . You see i was chosen for this job it was my destiny. I honestly believe what god has for you is for you and this is my time.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m a woman came from nothing trying to get everything i deserve. starting a small business testing u in places u never knew u had . you start losing some people u thought was for your dreams but god cleared the path for me and when the clouds cleared i seen who was still standing along the way . I moved to houston away from family and close friends trying to give my kids a better life and let my business flourish.. I want the world to know stitchedbyshonda is here to stay
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would say Turkey leg hunt cause the food is delicious and great drinks and love the customer service
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
