We had the good fortune of connecting with Olesya Webb and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Olesya, how has your work-life balance changed over time?

I absolutely love this question. Balance can mean different things to different individuals, you have to go out into the world and possibly get burned a few times before you find your own definition. For me, when it comes to balance I immediately think of boundaries. Five or Six years ago, I had almost no boundaries, unfortunate but true. As soon as I started working on boundaries, in all areas of my life (social, family, dating, business, and personal finances etc.) everything started slowly falling into place. I went from working at 11 different fitness studios, to being a business owner! In order for that growth to happen, for me to really reach my goals and potential, I had to put up energetic fences. Once I did that, it started to be easier for me to say no to events and different opportunities that were not in alignment with my personal goals and dreams. Best advice I can give on this is, if it’s not a f**k yes, then it’s a solid no.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

Currently, I’m the proud owner of Pilates with Olesya. A boutique style Pilates studio in the heart of River Oaks in Houston, TX. The studio specializes in private and semi-private Pilates training, meaning no large group classes are offered. What sets my studio apart is the privacy and exclusivity each client receives when they walk through the studio doors. It is important for me that each client be seen and heard. I work continuously to design kick-ass programs for them that align with their personal goals in and out of the studio.

I am proud of betting on myself and just going for it. I am not afraid of humble beginnings, in fact I would prefer it that way.

When it comes to overcoming challenges I am big on mindset training. When business challenges present themselves (hello being in business in 2020!) I grab my journal and brain dump, writing down the worst case scenario so that those negative thoughts do not stay with me. Then, I tear that page out and write out the best case scenario and read it out loud. If you are a business owner know that it starts and stops with you, so your mental game needs to be on point!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Oh my goodness, if I’m being honest I am the queen of putting itineraries together!

My Houston Local Hot Spots:
–Easter Glades for a little nature walk
-Dinner at Nancy’s Hustle
-Wine at Roots EADO

If we are taking a little weekend trip then we are going to Dripping Springs, TX. It’s my little hideaway from the city. The gentle rolling hills are beautiful and it’s the perfect place to clear your mind.
-Cooling off at Hamilton Pool (res required ahead of time!)
-Eating/Shopping at Texas Olive Oil Company (my favorite is the Rosemary Infused Olive Oil) If you are getting lunch here definitely get the grilled cheese + tomato soup
-Drinking @ Deep Eddy’s Vodka Tasting Room

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

A huge shoutout and virtual hug to my mother. She has had to wear many hats over the years from private driver, life coach, chef, motivational speaker… the list goes on. My mom put in the commitment to drive me to gymnastics practice 1 hour each way, 6 days a week for YEARS. She supported me through the highs and lows of gymnastics, performing on stage, signing contracts to driving me to physical therapy and everything in between.

As the saying goes, I wouldn’t be here without you. Love you mom!
