We had the good fortune of connecting with Huberto Villarreal and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Huberto, what do you attribute your success to?
Well, as for me this also pertains to my life in general as well. Even though i haven’t had major success in Hollywood yet, i still believe i’m successful, in my own rights. I’ve worked with Anthony Ray Parker in a Feature Film that was filmed throughout the city of Houston. I’ve been Nominated in The Zone Film Race back in 2017 & i was also Nominated in the 2020 MCP Network Showcase, which i won an Award for Best Supporting Actor. For the past two years i’ve had the opportunity to Audition for Casting Directors for major TV Shows, which i’m very thankful to do. I also started my own Comedy Skits for my YouTube Channel which i Write/Film/Edit/Direct my own Comedy Skits. All of this wouldn’t be possible without God in my life and he’s the most important factor behind my success. I would also say, minding my own business and do whatever i gotta do to make things happen for me, because i won’t be able to get things done if i’m worried about the next person,
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve always wanted to be an Actor for as long as i could remember. I knew i wanted to do Action, Drama and Comedy films, they intrigue me the most, but i’m open to other genre films, if the opportunity comes. I’ve done Drama and Comedy films in my career, but they still have my interest to do more in the future. What sets me apart from others is that i’m me and i can’t be nobody else, i’m a very cool and down to earth person and very humble. I’m more proud of the fact that i’m still here pursuing this journey i’m on and that i didn’t give up, i’m also proud of all my work I’ve done. One of the ways I’ve got here was staying consistent and learning how to be professional. Learning how to setup Auditions and learning how to be on time for an Audition and learning to be properly write an email, i think it’s the little things that count the most. In a way it was easy, because you also have life lessons to adapt to something you are pursuing. One lesson i have learned is being patient, nothing happens overnight, sometimes you get Audition appointments and sometimes you don’t, but you gotta keep pushing and move forward. I would want the world to know that i’m a very hard worker and that i’m a very nice person, easy to work with and respectful.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Well as for me i don’t go out as much as i should, so with that being said i don’t know any good spots in my city. I work a lot and i spend time with family most of the time. I’m so sorry that this is a short answer.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Well as for me, I’ve started my journey as an Actor in 2015 and I’ve met a lot of people throughout the years. First of all, i would give a Shoutout to Jesus Christ, without him none of this would be possible. A few years ago i met Owner/Founder of Enigmo Media at a Open Casting Call for their Feature Film and after completion of their Feature Film production, Manny Moreno of Enigmo Media and myself became good friends and he became my Photographer & Cinematographer. My Agent, Ms. Michelle plays a major factor in my career, she is the one who sends out submissions for Casting Calls & books the appointments for my Auditions. I’m very thankful for her and for also believing in me. I’ve never had a Mentor for Acting but i did meet someone who became my Mentor, Shayla Smith-Garcia & she would give me advice, show me support and talk to me about my career and what i gotta do to get to the next level. I’m very thankful for Her, her Friendship and Mentorship. And last but not least, my Son & my Parents for supporting my Acting Career, they have been there since day one and i wouldn’t be more happy to have them in my corner.
