We had the good fortune of connecting with Preston Walker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Preston, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I had to start my own business out of survival. I graduated college during a recession.

As a person of color, I didn’t feel confident to be hired to work in fashion unless it was by an urban brand or company of that nature so I decided to create my own opportunity in the industry.

What should our readers know about your business?
The most important lesson is staying consistent. As your own boss you need to stay motivated and stay consistent with your work to create your own opportunities and successes.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The most interesting places to check out are where the locals go. While on the road and traveling to 20+ cities a year it’s interesting to learn the cultural norms in each city you visit.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my mother.
