We had the good fortune of connecting with Kolby Chandler and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kolby, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born and raised in Houston, Tx. Houston is such a diverse city and growing up here has definitely shaped who I am today. Being able to experience so much culture and creativity you can’t help but to be inspired. This city has pushed me to start my own business and thrive.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started to create at the height of the pandemic. Cooking is something I have always been in love with and the pandemic forced us all to cook more and spend more time at home. I began to film my self cooking and posting online which soon became something I looked forward to everyday. My videos began to gain traction on social media and not long after I started posting my videos began to go viral and word like influencer began to get thrown around. Once my online presences became known I began making videos everyday.
Creating food content is an all day process and takes lots of work and patience. You know what they say if it was easy everyone would do it and cooking while filming and writing a recipe is not easy. At first it was a struggle maintaining my personal life and creating content while also managing a newly formed business, but I learned a lot along the way and found that creating a routine makes me my most productive.
I want the world to know that I truly love what I do and sharing my life and food with my audience! I have so much in store and can’t wait to share it with everyone!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
if you are in Houston you have to EAT! I have been a lot of places so I would take my friend to some of my favorite restaurants; la Lucha, graces, Taste bar, and so many more. There is also so much history and fun things to do. I would of course stop by the museum district!
Also, Depending on the time of year a rockets or Dynamo game is always a fun outing on a week night!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Family has played a huge role in all of my success! I want to dedicate my shout out to all of my family wo have supported me through all of my risky decisions.
