We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Savonne and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Heather, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Most people won’t take risks in life because of the unknown but what is a risk without the unknown? I used to put myself in this category of not being a risk taker, not being a very spontaneous person. As I look back on my life (I’m only 27), I can see where I did take risks, where there were unknowns. I took the risk/chance of going to a university I didn’t even visit. I moved to a town all on my own 2 times; first Plainview, TX (for school at Wayland Baptist University where I played NAIA volleyball) then Lubbock, TX (for church/missions). Those were huge “leaps of faith” “risks” that brought me to where I am today.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve always been a singer/writer and started teaching myself piano and ukulele in high scool. Continuing into college I loved music, joined a worship team, but discretely shared my giftings/talents with others because I was very insecure in who God called me to be. Recognition and affirmations from others helped boost some of my confidence but honestly it’s still something I struggle with today. But, I have had music chosen from Luboock Music NOW 2020 album with my original song “Found In You”. I also have music streaming on all platforms like Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music etc. I’m currently in the process of recording my first solo album with the help of engineers Lea Fulton, Jaime Arroyo, and Lucas Tomblin.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love going to coffee shops! Tenfold coffee is a great spot!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, all glory to God. That is the whole purpose and goal as a Christian singer/songwriter, worship leader and blogger. It’s to have Him be known in all I do or say. At the moment I am a LO Sister app ambassador for Sadie Robertson Huff’s brand/ministry called Live Original. I thank them for giving me to opportunity to speak life, wisdom, and encouragement into women’s lives through the social app.
