We had the good fortune of connecting with Krishna Chavda and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Krishna, how have you been keeping yourself busy during quarantine?
My favorite thing to do has been going on long bike rides and long walks with my family around our neighborhood lake. Staying fit and maintaining a strong immune system has become necessary more than ever while we are all staying at home. So our little bike ride activity, while keeping social distancing in mind, has been really fun so far and kept us all active. My life hasn’t changed much during quarantine, except now we are working from home. The best part is I can snag a quick hug or kiss from my daughter in the middle of my work anytime I want.

What should our readers know about your business?
Veatge is a fine and demi-fine jewelry brand. We are known for our heirloom-quality pieces for people who prefer minimal and modern designs with a touch of classic. This year, 2020, marks our 3rd year in the business, and looking back from where we started, we are incredibly proud of where we are today. It would be an understatement to say we had a rocky start, it sure hasn’t been easy, but the lessons we’ve learned along the way have paved the way for the future. We are growing more than 400% each year and are planning to expand our team now. There’s really no one secret to success; it’s all about hard work, perseverance, and discipline.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Houston is an amazing city, so diverse and culturally rich. We would start the day with a delicious brunch at Tiny’s boxwood, then stop by Gerald D. Hines Waterwall for a quick photoshoot and some shopping at Galleria. Then a trip to the museum district and finish with a nice dinner at one of the restaurants at Montrose. Of course, she can’t leave without a trip to NASA the next day and finish the day with dinner at one of Caracol. I’m a vegetarian, and Caracol has a good selection of vegetarian foods. One must never leave Houston without eating good Tex-Mex food, and Houston has some of the finest restaurants and chefs in the country.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It has to be the two men in my life, my husband and my dad. My husband is the backbone of our business; it is due to his strong support and business acumen we are successful today. He is the second founder and partner in Veatge. My dad was the one who started the 22k gold jewelry business in India and was highly involved with Veatge gemstone jewelry manufacturing. He guided me with his strong business experience and customer knowledge. He was even here last year and helped me with few shows in Houston. He is no more, but his wisdom and his legacy will always remain alive. He always said, “Patience is your friend; everything takes time.” Another one of his favorites is “Perfection is the enemy of progress.”
