Meet Todd Engle | Radio Station Owner / Radio Personality / Entrepreneur / DJ

We had the good fortune of connecting with Todd Engle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Todd, what is the most important factor behind your success?

The most important factor behind the success of our brand is our relentless drive and extreme passion for supporting Independent Artists, Musicians, and their commitment to becoming great in their respective fields. Insanely Gifted Radio is an assembled team of like minded individuals that share the same passion for Independent Music. The platform I created is used to showcase a Creative’s talent with few or no restrictions. We play all genres of music censored and uncensored; the only requirement is that the music has to be studio mixed and mastered. We only accept submissions in .mp3 format. Insanely Gifted Radio was recently recognized as one of the Top 50 Media Outlets in the State of Texas by L.O.U.D Muzik [Houston] and a Finalist for International Singer-Songwriter Association [ISSA] “Radio Station of the Year 2021”. Insanely Gifted Radio has seen it’s fair share of success in only our first year as a fully operational Internet Radio Station. We are based in Austin Texas, widely considered the “Live Music Capital of the World”. We have an innovative approach to programming by formatting our radio programs around Independent Artists.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

My hope is to one day eventually play only Independent Artists with Commercial Artists filling in programming gaps. Insanely Gifted Radio is affiliated with the Radio Indie Alliance a (67) member Radio Station Network of internet based stations located across the globe. We offer a number of incentives for Independent Artists. The first is we pay you $25 for having the #1 song on our weekly Top 20 Countdown. Our countdown which is fan based encourages you to interact with your fans on a daily basis. All you have to do is have your fans and friends call or text our Hotline at 512-537-2117 and request your song daily (1 vote per number per day is counted). We also report the Top 10 from our Top 20 to the Radio Indie Alliance. If you have the #1 song for the week on that Top 10 you are then added to the Radio Indie Alliance Top 75 of the (67) station list. We are also an Official International Singer-Songwriter Association Radio Station. I highly encourage all Independent Artists to join this 15K member and growing network of Musicians, DJ’s, Promoters and Radio Stations. It is free to join and you can win some amazing awards at the end of the year for your music. Insanely Gifted Radio also has an end of the year awards showcase as well. This past year we gave out (17) Awards total recognizing Artists across all of our Radio Station Programs. To qualify for our awards program you just need to be actively involved on our charts and participate in everything we have to offer from the free Album/EP Reviews and Interviews to our DJ Mix Competitions. We also offer free Artists Showcases throughout the year as well.

I have been recognized as one of the top Radio Programmers in the State of Texas. Our shows have been lauded as some of the best on Internet Radio. I got my start in Country Music and since have crossed into all genres during my long illustrious career in Radio. We have something for every type of listener, it doesn’t matter if it’s Pop or Country. We even have a show based on wrestling entrance music. With minimal resources and no investors we have created an All-Star Team of Radio Talent to boot.

We are really out here breaking records and discovering the “Stars of Tomorrow” at Insanely Gifted Radio. I was there at the beginning to see and support the Texas rise in the Music Industry in the early 2000’s. As the Hip-hop Music Director at Kazi FM 88.7 [Austin,TX] I was able to see Trae tha Truth, Paul Wall, Lil Flip, Slim Thug, and many others go from local obscurity to national fame. I truly believe that there will be another resurgence in the demand for Artists from the state of Texas and I expect to be a part of this new movement as well. Our motto is and will always be “We Don’t Retire the Hits We Inspire the Hits” which holds true and firm.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

If this is Austin I would take them to Zilker Metropolitan Park, Austin’s most loved park. We would spend a fair amount of the day walking and talking about the current state of the Music Industry and grab a bite from any of the local food trucks around. Austin is well known for its food trucks. For dinner I would take them to Bahadis, a Soul Food spot known for their delicious fried chicken and live music. We would finish the day on 6th Street and venture in and out of the various bars. You never know who may be performing on any given day or night. I would also be sure to take them to Midtown Live as well for their lunch specials and Happy Hour prices. Finally, I would take them to the Austin Public Library, considered one of the most innovative libraries in the World.

Meet the Team:

Tavaron Marshall aka “El Martel” is the First Official Officer and also a Radio Personality on Insanely Gifted Radio [Da Midnight Ryde]. He arrived on the radio scene after 20 years of military service [Air Force] in the Communications field with a new way of seeing how things operate in Commercial Radio. He distinctly remembers trying to service records to radio stations only to find that most radio stations refuse to break new artists without some type of compensation involved.

David Fuller, our resident [DJ] aka “DJ Dave Jordan” has been nominated for the Southern Entertainment Awards (SEA) “Slept on Radio Personality of the Year 2022”. DJ Dave Jordan calls Miami Dade County his home and provides the “Midweek Mix” every Wednesday at 12pm [Central]. He also serves as our Official DJ Coordinator. Both Tavaron and David are Air Force Veterans with backgrounds in the Radio Communication Field.

Kimberly Holiday aka “Lady Joy” spearheads the Sunday morning Gospel programs on Insanely Gifted Radio. Kimberly is also a Youth Peer Support Group Specialist and actively involved in the Community serving on the Pflugerville City Council as an Elected Official. She is the Gospel music Radio Host for “Bootleg Bible Devotional with Kimberly Holiday“ airing every Sunday morning at 5am [Central].
