Meet Danita Harrison | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Danita Harrison and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danita, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
My Sisters!

I have 3 who are all very talented. My oldest sister Eugenia deals in sales, second oldest Angie is a pro make- up artist and last my twin sister is a hair stylist. They have all been dedicated to their talented passion’s for years.

Watching them for so long gave me the motivation and encouragement to do something I always loved. That’s Photography! So In 2019 I purchased my first camera.

With the talents of my sisters before you knew it we were working with models and others as a team. My twin doing hair, Angie on make, Gena In control of content creation and myself behind the lens! Within a few months I put everything I owned against the odds and rented a studio with enough space for all my sisters to work out of. They weren’t against the idea they Just all work full time jobs holding them back from such a big decision. Well I was willing to quit my job and take the risk! We are now 4 successful business owners of “shots & Vibes Glam studio and Photography. My sisters are the motivation that allowed me to take a step in life towards my dreams.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a Photography and Glam studio, I think what sets us apart from the rest is the experience we offer. I remember when a client booked a shoot for her mom. We provided hair. Make up, and creative direction allowing the client to feel overly confident producing the best work but more importantly all while capturing a moment unforgettable. The most exciting part about this business is working side by side with my sisters. It’s a blessing to have the relationships and love we have for one another. It creates an atmosphere of motivating energy, and more exciting is the foundation we are laying down in hopes to create generational wealth for our kids’. The hardest part about running a business is consistency. Don’t be scared to push yourself to the next level because the moment you don’t, the only other way to go is down!
