We had the good fortune of connecting with Yalamba Kamara and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yalamba, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is my faith in God. My ability to trust that I can carry out the tools placed in my hands to achieve different levels played a role as well.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I believe what sets me apart from others in my craft is my vulnerability with my clients. We live in times where everyone is closed off, and not too inviting to let people into their lives. The foundation of my business is built upon faith. I utilize that to inspire, and open the door for inspiration for myself by being open to different testimonies from all walks of life. It’s truly kept me going when I’ve felt like giving up in business, and not knowing if it’s my purpose. The beauty industry has forced me to grow internally, and externally in so many ways. I’ve learned that what you water will grow. I’ve chosen to continue to nourish, and give light within my business’.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d first take my girl to the nail salon to start off, then to grab lunch at a seafood or Thai location. Lotus Seafood, and Baan Thai Cuisine would be my main options. Sight seeing is a must being as though we love nature. A museum, and or art exhibit with the perfect aesthetic would be a MUST. I’d definitely take her to prospect park to just vibe to music & do hookah. Plus they have amazing lamb chops that we’d have to try for dinner. The movies & or bowling would be on the list as well. To tie it in I’d find a sip & paint location to go to.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Glory goes to God, but I’d like to thank all my family, and friends in the DMV area for supporting my work.
