We had the good fortune of connecting with Mary Sostand and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mary, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
Following your dreams is a lonely, solitary ,scary, dangerous pursuit you can’t wait for somebody to think you can do it and it’s like they, they cuz they  don’t think you can do nothing they can’t do. Its a lonely scary dangerous pursuit and you gotta be willing risk everything to become that seed of what you believe that’s in there to become ,you gotta be fearless and gotta be relentless. – Will Smith

What this means to me not everyone will understand your journey right away. You have to learn people will not always support you right away but by remaining consistent and true to yourself there will be people that come along and do just that “Support”.
What I like about the quote is the realness he spoke because when you doing something sometimes you are going to be alone and thats okay. It all a learning process that I am going through with myself, but I know along my journey there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is a Tax preparation & Tax planning business while helping clients over come tax issues, bookkeeping to business consultations. Currently I was able to expand my business in Florida so I do have a Tax partner that also assist with tax needs. We have the opportunity to be a virtual/ mobile service. Taking pride in transparency and doing what’s comfortable for the client. Being the fact that I am virtual it can be a challenge when dealing paranoid client but to overcome those challenges I do set appt in different locations so I can meet with the client accordingly at a office. I am most proud of the information I was able to provide to myself and as well my partner throughout the season so we can remain successful. Its been a challenge just me running the business, but there isn’t a task I couldn’t complete.

My story behind the company is have things in our lifes to Makesense, Makeitmakesense is just that!

This is journey is still on going and it has not easy to get this point I lost a lot of investments starting the tax industry, but that with anything that you do there’s risk, but the risk can change your life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To be honest there are so many places to choose from so honestly my best friend and I would Bar and appetizer hop around the city trying different foods areas like the heights and downtown areas. There’s so much to Houston I have yet to explore and I have been here all my life.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out NP Price from Niki Price & Associates. She has been a dear friend and business owner that has motivated me and inspired me to start my own Tax business. She is definition of true friend that wants to see everyone WIN. I also would like to shoutout to Leighsa Gibson from LMG Pro Tax Software for just being amazon mentor and just helping mentees grow in the tax industry. I would like to shoutout Ravin Shantell from The Tax Boss Tax Solutions for opening a platform for other Tax professional that can come together and be great. Her knowledge and gems that she provides are unmatched and I can not thank these ladies enough for being a boss. These ladies has been an exceptional part of my process and I can’t thank them enough.

Lastly, I couldn’t be as successful without my loyal clients that continue their services with me this year since I was opening up a new tax company this year. Every comment, share, like and post never goes unnoticed and I thank you all for supporting me.
