We had the good fortune of connecting with Hope Roulhac and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hope, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most important lesson my business has taught me is to have patience and stay focused. There are sometimes when there are no customers/orders, but throughout these past couple of years I’ve realized that I have to keep going and not give up. No matter how hard things were for me.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a self taught baker. Once the Pandemic started, I needed a hobby, so I decided to start baking. Of course my work was definitely not professional, but after hard work and dedication and rebate after rebate, My work spoke for itself.
Starting this business was really hard. I didn’t know anything of having my own business or baking. I used YouTube tutorials, and advice from others to get to where I am today.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
To be honest, I love going to try out new restaurants. Recently I visited Benihana for my first time and it was amazing. I’ve never had food cooked right in front of me at a restaurant .
The woodlands area is also a nice area to hang out at. There are beautiful views, a lake, boat rides, etc.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
To start, I have to thank God because with him none of this would be possible. Next of course my husband’s support always kept me going. Then of course my family and friends. Lastly a couple of people I’ve met Janine, Kizzy Ware, I’ve learned so much from both of them.
