We had the good fortune of connecting with Aleisha Hail and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aleisha, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I feel like you should take risk especially when it involves your business. If you miss the chance or opportunity you may not ever get it again. In life you have to decide what’s important and is it worth your time and dedication. I saw a need for organic products and created an opportunity to provide everyone with a healthy alternative to haircare and skincare. I love what I do and it’s my passion. If I didn’t take risk I wouldn’t be where I am today with drive and ambition to work for myself while being fulfilled in my journey of entrepreneurship.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I take pride in every product that I make. My products are handmade in USA. I started off selling at work and to close friends. I began to promote my business more by attending various vending events all around Houston so that I can meet customers face to face and develop a relationship with them. When Covid hit I was not able to do in person vending events due to the lockdown. I then began working on my online presence which I needed to improve but relied heavily on vendor events. Once I improved my website and was more creative with social media, I began to grow my online community. In 2021 I opened my first retail location. I have learned to never give up on your passion. You will have good days and bad days but keep God first and keep going. My brand is providing chemical free products with purpose, organic hair and skincare.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A weeklong itinerary would consist of drinks and dinner at my favorite restaurant Eddie V’s Prime Seafood. They serve a wide variety of food and appetizers. They also have a live band and a great happy hour. We probably would hang out at Discovery Green Park. It’s always fun events going on at Discovery Green and family oriented. Nice places to check out would be the Houston Fine Arts museum so that we could learn interesting information about the past.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give credit to Ms. Leondria Thompson of Tri County Regional Black Chamber of Commerce. As a member she provides guidance and opportunities that lead to being a successful business owner. I was introduced to Ms. Thompson by my best friend Nicole Curette of Dream Maker Realty. Nicole and I met while working in the medical field and I watched her transform into an outstanding business owner. She has worked for herself for many years and is very successful. She owns three companies today. When I first announced to her the details of my product and business plan, she encouraged me and supported me. We have been friends for over twenty years and are more like sisters. I am so grateful for all of the family and friends support I have received too. I’m still currently in the medical field and my coworkers support my business one hundred percent which means everything to me as a small business owner, I’m so thankful for them.
