We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started my own business for several things. Personally, after not succeeding in a professional basketball career, I desire freedom. Freedom to create wealth, impact people and to do what I love.

From my past up bringing from my parents and what basketball developed within me, fitness was a perfect fit for me. I’m able to use my perspective to empower people to believe. That’s why I wanted to create my own brand.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My brand is called Mean Green Training. Which blossom from outdoor bootcamps, which we still host, starting in 2009. I didn’t have a 5 year plan, I was broke. That’s why I did outdoor fitness. I would have never thought it would grow in a trend in Houston where countless amount of trainers will following.

Now we have 2 Mean Green Gym locations, which we’re able to impact our community and offer jobs to trainers through out the city. The culture at our gym is matchless. With our unique program that offers; Strength, HiiT, And Conditioning have really made a impact to help countless amount of Houstonians receive results.

With success within the bootcamps and gyms, we have now the luxury opportunity to serve people outside of Houston with our online workouts at the Dailysweat365.com. Now we can train people, anywhere, at anytime.

Within business, you can notice, I never strive to be limited. I love growth. My biggest lesson I have learned in business is to continue to grow. I have hire mentors, join webinars, and I’m always trying to read the best book to inspire me.

My journey was not easy. However, it’s design me and my brand. It’s funny when I met people and they think everything I have produced happened over night. I’ve learned along time ago, if I never quit, I will always have a chance to find success. I’ve receive a lot of “no’s” but without them, I would not be receiving the “yes” I’m experiencing now. I’m forever grateful for my journey and I’m looking forward in growing hundredfold.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In Houston, we have a lot to offer. I would love to show the diversity. Personally, I would love for them to experience the sports life within Houston. I’m a huge Texans, Rockets and Astros fan. So I definitely want them to see the passion behind our pro sport teams.

Food- I love food. From Graces to Grand lux, visiting Houston without checking out our food spots would be insane.

Other than that, I’m pretty chill. I love working out but at the same time hanging with my family.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents is the center of everything I have ever conquered. My father created so much identity, confidence and swagger within me. My mother, God bless her soul, is the heartbeat of what I do. It’s been 10 years since she passed, but her spirit and memories of her gives me the drive to never give up and to be courageous. My sister Shana, was the first person to put a book in my hand and taught me about personal development. She open my eyes to show me I was way more than an athlete. As you can see, my family has had a huge impact for me, but nothing more impactful than my faith and trust I have in God.
