We had the good fortune of connecting with Jocelyn Randolph and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jocelyn, what do you want your legacy to be?
What do I want my legacy to be… wow, this is a deep, personal question that I never thought I would be writing about publicly. I would love to be a positive force in the world and encourage the people around to be their best. Doing something good for others feels a lot like Christmas. Not like decorated indoor trees, or a few wrapped gifts, but the feeling of joy in the room. Rafael, my partner, and I were sitting in a huge room at the ADDYS earlier this year. The room was filled with dozens of tables that sat about 8 people in full evening attire each. During the ceremony, the program organizer walked to the stage to award Brenda Love at Love Advertising the AAF Silver Medal Award. We watched a short video of people across the industry thanking her for supporting and motivating them. The organizer then asked the audience to stand if Brenda also touched their lives, pockets of people from different tables across the room began to stand. “Wow” I thought “I wish I had that same opportunity to work and learn from her. She seems like an amazing mentor”. So as we grow as the company, I ask myself “What can we do to support others?.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The thing I want the world to know is that Houston Texas has some amazing artists. I think we often get overlooked as the oil and gas city, but with a population of about 7.1 million we have so many gifted creatives. Our goal is to find ways to support them, teach them new industry knowledge and rebuild the creative video community that fizzled out nearly a decade ago.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Every city I visit, I always want to check out their zoo. I would highly recommend the Houston Zoo or Moody Gardens. Some of the best inspiration for art comes from nature and there is not better place than these places.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My first official supervisor in the industry, Joe Ewing taught me a lot about improving my work but also staying cool, calm, and collected during times of great stress. More importantly he taught me what a good leader is all about, listening and helping the people you oversee. Another one of my memorable mentors is Matt Hightower. He saw the details in everything and taught me how to better organize my work and find efficiencies. Matt was also always the first person to volunteer to work into the night if it meant his team could go home. He is a true team player and often fills his exhausted team with laughter.
