Meet Dominique Vicedomine | Bartender and Owner of Bartenders The Art Show

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominique Vicedomine and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dominique, how do you think about risk?
Failure is not something to fear ever and taking risks is the only way to push yourself to grow and pile drive your goals. Any success I’ve found is due to facing my biggest fears, closing my eyes, and making the jump despite judgement and failure.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a bartender. I do this simply because I love to do it. Here we have such an amazing eclectic community of very passionate and hardworking individuals from all walks of life all with something to teach the next one. Learning and education never stops here and the farther you go the more there is to know. Our lovely world of spirits and artistic outlet is eye opening and fascinating with tons of talent to be discovered and I want to show the world what that looks like through my eyes. Through this community of creatives I was able to launch a great project called bARTenders The Art show with the help of great friends and brand representatives. If you missed this, this is an art show featuring anyone who works in the hospitality industry that engages in creative outlets extracurricularly whether it be digital media, multi media, music, etc. I want to show the world who we are as people and what we bring to the table.
Getting here has been difficult on my mind and my body but I’ve learned to keep going and the the payoff will come.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The first place we’re going to is Rudyard’s pub in midtown. I love this bar. It’s so authentically itself with strong personalities behind its bar top and I can’t stay away.
When we’re hungry we’re definitely going to Jinya Ramen because they just do it right. Order the Tonkotsu black level 5 spice with an extra egg, trust me.
There’s always a good show happening down at White Oak Music Hall again with an excellent team of professionals and one of the funnest bar teams in Houston-and always afterwards gotta have a beer at Raven Tower.
If you’re looking for me with my friends you can find me hopping around midtown. I love Anvil, this bar houses some of the most experienced and knowledgeable bartenders you’re gunna find in Houston. Recently I’ve been really enjoying the energy and cocktails at a new bar called Refuge that just opened right above; definitely worth a check out.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I owe credit to those that have doubted me as well as everyone who cared to see me grow past that as well as myself for putting in the work to surpass personal goals. My father has always been my largest supporter and and inspiration to what gives me the strong will and drive to continue; without him, the love of my closest friends, and my teachers and mentors I wouldn’t have the bravery to face the challenges and growing pains.
The sky is truly the limit.
